Scholarships & Grants

Twice a year the Foundation offers classroom grants to our district teachers. These grants are open in the spring and fall of each year and award around $500 per grant.

The Spring 2025 grants were awarded to four amazing projects:

• the Junior High builders club, a wonderful group of students who improve engagement within their school and community by volunteering their time and resources,
• a purchase of inclusive phys ed equipment to encourage participation and movement for grades 4-5 students,
• fostering the joy of reading by providing SH students with the opportunity to select their own books at The Paper Garden; and,
• implementing Yoto for literacy development for Ben Franklin third graders!

The Indiana Area Education Foundation established the annual Superintendent’s Award and Assistant Superintendent’s Award scholarships in 2025. The Superintendent’s Award was created by IASD Superintendent Mr. Robert Heinrich to commemorate his 2024 Instructional Leadership Award from the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators (PASA). In conjunction with this award, the Assistant Superintendent’s Award was created by IASD Assistant Superintendent Mr. Sean Gildea. IAEF is honored to award both the Superintendent & Assistant Superintendent Awards annually to two of IASD’s graduating students.
